Modifying Business Rules

After you establish the basic model settings, visit the Business Rules panel for the next important step to creating your model. It's here where you'll create calculations and assign resources to processes, general ledgers to resources, and other functions that will essentially be used as the framework for your model.

There's no preferred way to begin working with business rules. If you want to create your cost objects and metrics first, you can skip over to the Business Dimensions panel. If you prefer adding dimension data and assigning resources first, start there and return later to add their metric components.

General Ledger - opens the General Ledger screen, where you can edit general ledger data.
GL Assignments - opens the GL Assignments screen, where you can assign general ledger items to resources.
Resource Pools - opens the Resource Pools screen, where you can edit resources, or add new ones manually or by uploading a file.
Support Resouce Pools - opens the Support Resource Pools screen, where you can assign resources to pools.
RP Assignments - opens the RP Assignments screen, where you can assign resource processes to resources.
Processes - opens the Processes screen, where you can create processes and their equation.
Business Dimensions - opens the Business Dimensions screen, where you can objects, drivers, metrics, weight equations, global drivers, and global metrics.
